How did Prada’s success begin?

While the first Paris boutique opened in 1986, two years later the brand expanded its line of shoes and bags to include ready-to-wear, launching Miu Miu in 1993.

In 1994, she released her menswear line and in 1997, the Prada Sport line. Meanwhile, the brand became part-owner of compatriot Gucci before passing ownership of the luxury division of Kering Holdings (formerly PPR) in the late 1990s.

After starting a project in 1996, the brand expanded into beauty in 2000 with the release of Prada fragrances from the new Prada Beauty division.

Today, Prada is undoubtedly an important brand in the fashion world. In 2003, Lauren Weisberger published a novel called The Devil Wears Prada, in which the editor-in-chief of a famous fashion magazine wore only luxury brand clothes, such as Prada.
