What is the Louis Vuitton success story?

The saga of Louis Vuitton

LOUIS VUITTON was founded in 1854, named after its creator, Louis Vuitton. Born in 1821, Vuitton learned the art of crafting with hand-tools from his father, a miller and carpenter. At the age of 16, he left his hometown in the Jura mountains of southeast France and embarked on a 400km journey on foot to Paris. There, he found work as an apprentice for a company that prepared the belongings of wealthy travelers for their trips. His expertise in luggage-making earned him the esteemed customer of Eugénie, the Empress of France and wife of Emperor Napoleon III.
